Manatee County Officials have hired a contractor to come in and clean up the tons of dead fish left from red tide.

Crews are spending the weekend surveying local canals, channels and waterways to figure out which areas have been hit the worst.
Next week they say clean-up with begin with the worst areas first.
They have also created a hotline, 941-749-3547, for citizens to call if they want more information about the clean-up efforts or if they have questions. It will be staffed seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
