Deputies arrest, charge man for murder of 20YO found dead in car behind shopping plaza in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. - Manatee County deputies have arrested and charged a 20-year-old man for the murder of another 20-year-old man who was killed last week.

According to deputies, Jacob Brian Harris, 20, was arrested on Monday in connection to the death of Cory Iwanski, 20, who was killed on Tuesday, August 29. Detectives originally suspected foul play, but have not released a motive to the public at this time.

Iwanski, was last seen by his mother the Saturday before he was killed.

His mother tried unsuccessfully to contact him for two days. On the Monday before he was killed, she contacted the MCSO to report him missing.

Early Tuesday morning, the victim was found deceased in a vehicle behind the shopping plaza on 53rd Avenue East in Bradenton. Deputies say that there was trauma to the body which is why they suspect foul play.

Detectives released three images of vehicles that were in the area where Iwanski was found and proceeded to find the drivers for questioning.

Harris was arrested on Monday and charged with Murder. He was booked into the Manatee County Jail without incident.

No other information has been provided at this time.
