The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit and run in Manatee County on Monday morning.
The crash occurred on State Road 64 just west of the Hardee County line. Officials say both lanes of SR 64 are closed while authorities investigate.
The crash involved a vehicle versus pedestrian. The vehicle left the scene and the pedestrian died at the scene.
FHP says the vehicle is suspected to be a 2009 or newer Ford Super Duty pickup truck.
If you need to travel eastbound on SR 64, you should take South Duette Road north in SR 62, then take SR 62 east to For Green Ona Road, then take Fort Green Ona Road south to SR 64.
If you need to ravel westbound on SR 64, you should take Fort Green Ona Road north to SR 62, then take SR 62 to South Duette Road, then take South Duette Road South to SR 64.
