A driver is being sought after a hit-and-run crash in Sarasota this afternoon, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 1:05 p.m., two vehicles were heading northbound on Mauna Loa Boulevard near the intersection of Bee Ridge Road. A Ford, whose model and driver are unknown, was behind a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Francine M. Butulis, 72.
That's when the Ford entered the painted median safety zone and improperly passed the Honda. The right side of the Ford sideswiped the Honda's left side, and the Ford fled northbound on Mauna Loa Blvd, then westbound on Bee Ridge Road, according to FHP.
The Ford is described as a pickup truck driven by a man wearing a head covering.
