Deputies investigating possible murder-suicide in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. — Deputies are conducting a death investigation in what they believe was a murder-suicide in Sarasota. 

Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a unit at 5030 Central Sarasota Parkway around 10 a.m. Friday. Deputies say a neighbor located two deceased individuals inside the home. 

"Based on preliminary investigation, detectives believe the incident may be the result of a murder-suicide however, as always, the official cause of deaths will be determined and released by the Medical Examiner’s Office," the sheriff's office wrote in a press release.

The two deceased have been identified as Herbert D. Brooker, 82, and Marie Annette T. Brooker, 78.      

No additional information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
