LAKEWOOD RANCH, FLA.- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after a woman went boating with her ex-boyfriend in December and died later that day.

Elisa Hunt had brunch with her aunt, Michelle Hunt, hours before she died.

"We had brunch together because I was leaving to go out of town for the holidays. We were spending a morning together to celebrate the holiday," recalled Elisa Hunt.

Manatee County deputies want to speak to anyone who recalls seeing Hunt with her ex-boyfriend on December 16, 2018. Deputies say the two left on a boat departing from Phillippi Harbor Club Marina in Sarasota around 1 p.m. The boat docked near the Casey Key Fish House in Osprey later that day. Deputies say the ex-boyfriend told them she hit her head and started vomiting. Deputies say her ex said she wanted to go home to clean up.

He later called 9-1-1. Hunt died at a hospital in Lakewood Ranch.

"Just want to get some answers for all the missing pieces that are out there. There are so many questions about what happened, the timing of what happened," said Elisa Hunt.

"We are hoping somebody can just come forward and help fill those gaps for us and answer those questions so we can find some peace," she added.

ABC Action News is not releasing the ex-boyfriend's name because deputies do not consider him a person of interest.
