NORTH PORT, Fla. — The Randazzo family of North Port is thanking community members after a Grinch nearly stole their Christmas. The family realized their house was burglarized on Friday morning.
“They came in, stole the presents and even took the keys to the minivan and drove off,” said Vincent Randazzo.
Police eventually found the minivan near Miami, but the kids were still without presents.
“The kids were just devastated,” said Randazzo.
The family got a pleasant surprise over the weekend. Their neighbors started a fund to help them buy more presents and the North Port Fire Department donated scooters to the children.
“They couldn’t believe everybody helped so much, people knocking on the door giving gifts,” said Randazzo.
Vincent said his family feels truly blessed by the community support.
Officers are still looking for the crooks. If you have any information on the case contact the North Port Police Department 941-429-7300.
