A 1-year-old Bradenton boy drowned Tuesday afternoon after he wandered away and fell into a nearby swimming pool.
The boy's mother, Elizabeth Mueller, 27, was home alone in their duplex on 51st Avenue East around 3 p.m.
Mueller, deputies said, was doing laundry when she noticed her son, Kyllian, was missing.
She went looking for him and found him in a pool that is shared by duplex residents.
She pulled him out and EMS was called.
The child was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
No other information was immediately available.
