A man crashed into a Skyway toll booth Tuesday afternoon and then apparently got out of his car and ran.
Deputies caught up with the man, Charles Slothower, running on the Skyway rest area ramp. As he was being taken back to his car (and the toll booth), Slothower reportedly kicked the back passenger window several times, causing hundreds of dollars of damage.
The violence didn't end there. Later that day, Slothower was booked into the Manatee Sheriff's Office jail. While being transported to a cell, the man "sucker punched" a Sheriff's Deputy in the face.
Slothower has been charged with criminal mischief property damage and battery on a law enforcement officer.
