Manatee deputies arrested a Bradenton woman who refused to pay after eating a New York strip steak and chocolate cake.

According to the arrest report, on Monday afternoon Ana Bulovic enter the Cody's Original Roadhouse on Cortez Road West and ordered a New York strip steak and chocolate cake.

Authorities say Ana refused to pay when a server brought her the bill. At that point the restaurant's general manager, Kristen Hulsey, decided to call law enforcement.

A deputy went to Cody's Roadhouse and spoke with Hulsey. The general manager said she wanted to press charges if Ana continued to refuse to pay for her meal.

The deputy said he walked over to Ana, who was enjoying the chocolate cake, and asked if she had money to pay for the food. Ana reportedly told the deputy the bill was higher than she expected.

The deputy then asked Ana how much money she had. Her reply? "Zero."

The deputy questioned Ana why she ordered all the steak and cake if she knew she didn't have any money to pay for it.

"Just give me my fine and I'll leave," said Ana, according to the arrest report.

At that point the deputy told Ana she was going to be arrested if she couldn't pay the bill.

"Let's go," replied Ana.

The deputy then handcuffed Ana and put her in the back of his cruiser. He then asked Husley to fill out an affidavit and hand over the receipt as evidence.

Ana was taken to the Manatee County Jail and charged with Petit Theft.
