MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Manatee County teacher who rode his bike to school every day is retiring after teaching students for 33 years.
David Leppek taught art at Martha B. King Middle School in Bradenton. He shared photos with us on his last day of teaching this week.
David Leppek retires after 33 years of teaching in Manatee County. Each day he would ride his bike to Martha B. King Middle School. He would place a message on his bike every month or so. His students in art class said goodbye to him today. Enjoy retirement! pic.twitter.com/g3IIdA23pj

Leppek was known for riding his bike to school with a different message attached to the back of his bike. The messages would change about each month.
His most recent message: "Schools out forever!"
As he looks forward to retirement, Leppek plans to play more golf and doing some tutoring.
