SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy following a 'medical emergency' inside a child care facility.
Police said the incident happened in the 1600 block of 10th Street on Thursday.

The boy was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital but later died, police said.
Detectives and patrol officers are working to collect evidence and interview witnesses on what happened.
Police have not released any details about what the medical emergency may have been.

Police closed Orange Ave. and 10th Street while detectives work the investigation on Thursday. It has since reopened.
