Three farm workers were struck by lightning Monday in Manatee County, leaving one of them dead, deputies said.
The workers with Falkner Farms at 35100 S.R. 64 in Myakka City were loading a truck about 5:10 p.m. when they were struck, according to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the workers was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two others were treated and released.
No further details have been released.
