POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Polk County courthouse was evacuated Thursday night due to a suspicious package, according to authorities.
After investigating the possible threat, authorities say the suspicious package was actually discarded electronics trash.
Bartow Police Department say that they did receive a phoned-in bomb threat earlier in the day Thursday for the Police Department.

The courthouse is located at 255 N Broadway Ave in Bartow. Officials at the time said they found a suspicious device with wires coming out of it contained in about three containers.
