LAKELAND, Fla. — The City of Lakeland is installing new parking signs downtown to make parking more user-friendly, the city says.

The new signs are being installed over the weekend and will be effective starting Monday, January 7.

“The City of Lakeland has been working with the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority to design signage that clarifies regulations while helping to maximize parking turnover for the downtown merchants,” Angelo Rao, Manager of Traffic Operations and Parking Services said.

There will also be new parking enforcement hours, starting at 9 a.m. every weekday and ending at 5 p.m. Parking is free downtown after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. For additional parking help visitors can use an app, called ParkMobile.
