LAKELAND, Fla. — A Lakeland teen known for making a difference is being recognized for his years of anti-bullying work.

Jaylen Arnold will be attending South Eastern University in Lakeland with his tuition fully reimbursed.

Arnold became an inspiration for children all over the nation when he was just 8-years-old.

"Bullying is a terrible situation, but it's temporary," he said.

The now 18-year-old’s mission is to end bullying, challenging kids all over to do the same.

In the past, he’s been featured on Ellen, honored with The Diana Award, and had the opportunity to connect and spread his anti-bullying and violence message with stars across the U.S.

"It just gives me chills to know that out of all the days that someone could even think about ending their own life that I happened to be there to share a message that they desperately needed to hear," he said.

Thursday, SEU honored him with multiple scholarship awards which add up to his full tuition cost of about $36,000.

Arnold says he’s interested in pursuing a degree in journalism or film-making. He ultimately wants to become an actor.
