Country singer legend, Willie Nelson, reached out to an ill Lakeland grandmother as one of her last wishes through social media.

Nelson was recently in the Tampa area when he performed at the Florida Strawberry Festival, but one of his biggest fans was hospitalized for a severe brain tumor.

Shirley Kidd has been battling brain cancer for the past six months. The diagnosis has put her in and out of the hospital since December.

Kidd, a grandmother and great grandmother, goes by MooMoo to her grandchildren.

On Friday, ABC Action News spoke with Kidd about hoping to hear from Nelson before she passes.

During the interview, Kidd sang through her favorite song by Nelson -- his rendition of Amazing Grace.

Over the weekend, Nelson posted a personalized video message on a Twitter feed to Kidd, addressing her by MooMoo before singing a portion of Amazing Grace to her.

Along with the video, the person who tweeted the reply said Kidd can expect a gift in the mail for MooMoo.

The tweet said "Hey Lucas! Give this to MooMoo Tell her we have some gifts coming!"
