Polk County deputies said they arrested a woman for child neglect after finding a 2-year-old boy wandering a neighborhood wearing only a soiled diaper.

Deputies say she claimed she hadn't slept the night before because she had been smoking meth and drinking wine.

Leslie Wulff, 48, who is not the child's mother, was passed out inside of an Oak Street home when they found her, deputies said. She had meth and a pipe inside of the home and didn't realized the child had wandered off. She told deputies it was the first time she had smoked the drug.

"You're 48-years-old, you're smoking meth all night long and you tell us you've never used it before? Oh, I'm sure it wasn't the meth that bothered you, it was the wine, right?" Sheriff Grady Judd said.

The toddler was found just before 6 p.m. Monday three houses down from his home. According to family members, the child's father was out of town for work. He left his son in Wulff's care while he was gone.

Wulff told deputies she had locked the door and secured a gate in the yard before lying down and wasn't sure how the child was able to get out.

Wulff has been arrested several times in the past. Past charges range from drugs to fraud and child neglect.
