LAKELAND, Fla. — The Lakeland Police department is asking for the public's help locating a missing 81-year-old man.

John Thomas, 81, was last seen in the back patio of the Lakeland Manor Assisted Living Facility located at 747 Bon Air Street in Lakeland on Monday, December 11. Thomas was seen by video surveillance climbing over the 6-foot fence before walking away from the facility.

Lakeland police say that Thomas is familiar with the Lakeland, Plant City, and Tampa areas and made statements that he planned on returning back to the Tampa area.

Thomas has medical ailments and does not have his medication with him.

Thomas is 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black hat and "Croc" style shoes.
