Police report a 21-year-old was shot and killed early Sunday morning at a Lakeland apartment complex.
At approximately 4:34 a.m., officers responded a call of gunshots at the Lakewood Terrace Apartments at 1315 W 14th Street. When officers arrived on scene they discovered Jean Makenson Deroche lying in the parking lot next to his vehicle. Deroche had been shot multiple times.
Paramedics took the 21-year-old to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center where he died.
Detectives say their investigation into the murder is ongoing and they have yet to identify or arrest any suspects.
