BARTOW, Fla. — An effort to restore and open a Bartow historic home to the public is underway.

The Wonder House is a full-time, private residence dating back to 1926 but its owners, Drew Davis and Krislin Kreis, are working to open it up for small, guided tours.

The home is located at 1075 E Mann Road in Bartow and was once a former Florida tourist attraction in the post-Depression era.

The couple says back then a dime would grant you admission to the home, filled with oddities and curiosities.

The Wonder House was in serious disrepair when the couple bought it.

On Monday, March 25, the owners plan to appeal to City Council members at Bartow City Hall at 5:30 p.m.
