ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after she was stabbed on Friday, police say.
St. Petersburg police said at around 7:30 p.m., police responded to 4061 Porpoise Dr. S.E. and found a woman that was stabbed several times.

She was transported to Bayfront Health with serious injuries.
Lonnie Lavine was there when officers arrived. He was arrested for attempted murder.
Lavine was treated at St. Anthony's hospital for minor injuries to his hand and was booked into the Pinellas County Jail before midnight.
He lived in an unattached shed behind the victim's home. Police say the two were not in a relationship.
It is early in the investigation, however, preliminary information is that the two were in an argument before the stabbing.
