On Tuesday, September 26, 2017, Treasure Island Police arrested a suspect, Cynthia Tavera-Boggio, on the charge of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Officers originally stopped Boggio for a traffic violation at Gulf Boulevard and 116th Avenue. During the interaction officers claimed to smell an aroma of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, giving them probable cause for a search.

Treasure Island officers say they searched the vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Scion, and found 37 grams of marijuana in the glove compartment. Officers said the marijuana was packaged in nine separate baggies with "Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles" stamped on them.

A small scale was also found and officers concluded the marijuana was for distribution.

Boggio was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
