St. Petersburg police search for 'barbecue thieves'

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a couple who "were planning a Memorial Day barbecue with stolen goods."

According to police, the man and woman were caught on camera stuffing packages of shrimp and steak into the woman's purse shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Aldi on 34th Street North.

After stuffing the woman's large brown purse, the couple walked out of the store without paying.
