ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Pete police are investigating after an officer was involved in a crash on Sunday.
Police said around 3:45 p.m., a marked police cruiser was involved in a crash with a Mercedes SUV at 15th Avenue South and 28th Street South.
The officer sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the SUV also went to the hospital to be checked out.
The intersection will remain closed for several hours for the investigation.
