St. Pete police investigate deadly shooting in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man was arrested after a shooting in St. Pete on Saturday.

St. Pete police said the shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. at the Food Max at 1400 18th Ave. S.

The victim, 22-year-old Deauntazies L. Ramsey, and the suspect, 24-year-old John F. Grant, knew each other.

Police said the two got into an argument and Grant shot Ramsey in the Food Max parking lot.

Ramsey was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said Grant is facing a second-degree murder charge.

This is an ongoing investigation.
