Khalessi, the abused pit bull-mix who became a symbol of strength and hope in the face of animal cruelty, has sadly passed away from her fight with a terminal kidney condition.
So many people in the Tampa Bay community and around the world have followed this sweet pup's story after she was found severely abused in August of 2015.
On August 8, 2015, Khalessi was rescued by Passions 4 Pits from Orange County Animal Services after she was found with no upper jaw and her nasal cavity had healed over from past trauma. She weighed only twenty pounds when she was found. Her new foster family immediately got her the treatment she needed and she became a face for pets around the world fighting against animal cruelty.
On her fan page, her owners posted the following video to remember her sweet smiles and her playfulness. The hashtag #KhalessiStrong has been circulating on social media ever since she was found. Now, that hashtag is being used to remember this sweet pup.
