The Tampa Bay Rays took on the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday for the home opener, marking the franchise’s first Sunday home opener.

"Major League Baseball is trying to own this day. There are four games, and we are thrilled to be one of them," Rays President Brian Auld said.

Auld said fans have a lot to look forward to this year.

"I certainly hope we put a few runs on the board today. We've got a rejuvenated lineup," Auld said.

Actor George Wendt from the TV show "Cheers" threw out the first pitch. The real pitcher of the game, Chris Archer, started for the Rays.

"He's the ace. He's the man right now. He is exactly what you want in your starting ace," Richard Johnson said.

Fans also have a new beer to drink and a place to drink it in. There is a new draft room for season ticket holders. There is also a new beer called the 2 Seam Blonde Ale.

"It's pretty good. I'm liking it," fan Monique Johnson said.

The Rays formed a partnership with Green Bench Brewing in an effort to come up with the unique beer.\
