ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The St. Petersburg Police Department alongside the Tampa Police Department announced the arrest of a man they say is behind a string of robberies in the Bay Area.

Ted Grossman, 36, was arrested early Wednesday morning for two armed robberies, but authorities say he is suspected in at least nine more.

Early Wednesday morning, around 3:50 a.m., authorities were called ro an armed robbery taking place at a 7-Eleven. Grossman ran away from the scene, authorities say, but was located around 4:30 a.m. and taken into custody.

Grossman is believed to be related to a string of robberies that started on March 15, authorities said in a press conference.

At this time, Grossman is charged with two attempted armed robberies in Pinellas County. The other robberies continue to be actively investigated and authorities say charges are expected at a later date.
