A pilot was killed Wednesday after his plane crashed at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
The crash occurred about 11:45 a.m. as the twin-engine Comanche aircraft veered from a runway while practicing landing and takeoff, according to the airport. It crashed into grass just off the runway.
The pilot was the only person on board at the time.
