CLEARWATER, Fla. — A man was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead after being pulled from the water in Clearwater Wednesday afternoon.
Police say 25-year-old Nicholas Baldwin worked with the jet ski rental business behind Shephard's Beach Resort.
Clearwater Fire and Rescue responded to the area a little before 2 p.m. Baldwin's coworkers noticed him missing, saw him just offshore and pulled him in where they began CPR.
Baldwin was taken to Morton Plant Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The drowning comes just days after police began searching for a 23-year-old woman who disappeared at the same resort. Gabriella Lora was eventually found safe in Hillsborough County after Clearwater Police sent out a missing person's report Monday afternoon.
