Gulfport police search for vehicle involved in hit-and-run injuring a 17-year-old boy

GULFPORT, Fla. — Gulfport police are asking for the public's help looking for a car that hit a 17-year-old boy Sunday.

Police said around 11 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was hit by a car on Gulfport Blvd. just east of 58th Street.

The boy was on foot and was attempting to cross Gulfport Blvd., but was not in the crosswalk.

The boy was flipped up over the vehicle and the vehicle did not stop. It continued east on Gulfport Blvd.

The vehicle was described as a newer model gray Nissan four-door. It was possibly an Altima or Maxima which likely has sustained some front damage.

The boy had some serious but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to All Children's Hospital.
