DUNEDIN, Fla. — Deputies arrest a Clearwater man and woman following a stabbing Sunday afternoon on the Dunedin Causeway.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Javier Solis and 48-year-old Lynette Kist were parked on the southwest causeway beach next to the victims. Witnesses report the two got into an argument with Dwayne Rouleau and at some point Kist walked behind the 54-year-old, placing him in a headlock.
Rouleau's step-son, 19-year-old Christopher Gourlay, witnessed the attack and pulled Kist away from his step-father.
Deputies say Solis then went to his truck to retrieve a knife.
Witnesses say Solis accidentally cut Kist as he tried to pull her away, then stabbed Rouleau multiple times in his torso before punching Gourlay.
Deputies say after the stabbing, Solis and Kist got into their Ford F-150 truck and drove off, throwing the knife out the passenger window into the Intracoastal Waterway.
Paramedics transported Rouleau to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to survive.
Responding deputies located the pickup truck and stopped it near the intersection of Tradewinds Drive and Bayshore Boulevard.
Deputies arrested Solis, charging him with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Battery and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Kist is charged with Battery and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
The Sheriff's Office says its investigation into the stabbing is continuing.
