PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A cat is recovering after it was dropped from a car on the Howard Frankland Bridge and then fell 30 feet into the water.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they got a call about the cat Wednesday morning.
They found it on the shoulder just before the "hump" in the southbound lanes.
However, the cat tried to hide from troopers and ended up falling 30 feet into the Bay.
A trooper used a flare to get the attention of some nearby construction workers on a barge. It almost took half an hour to get the cat to safety.
It's now being cared for at an animal hospital.
