35-year-old man arrested for attempting to solicit sex from officer he thought was 14-year-old girl in Pinellas County

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A 35-year-old man was arrested after attempting to solicit sex from what he thought was a 14-year-old child in Pinellas County.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said during an undercover operation on December 29 Jaciel Tellez-Arroyo attempted to solicit sex from one of their officers who he believed was a 14-year-old girl. During his solicitation, Tellez-Arroyo sent lewd photos of himself and offered to pay the officer so they could meet.

Police arrested Tellez-Arroyo on January 2 at his Tarpon Springs home. He is facing up to five years for each of the following third degree felonies;

  • Use of a computer to seduce/solicit/entice a child to commit sex acts.
  • Travel to seduce, solicit, lure a child to commit sex acts.
  • Transmission of materials harmful to minors to a minor by electronic device or Equipment.
