NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A woman found standing in the middle of a drive-thru with a toddler on Thursday night is facing child neglect and possession charges, according to an arrest report.

The report says Melanie Hancox, 35, was "severely inebriated" when she was found unmoving in the drive-thru of the McDonalds on US-19 in Port Richey just before midnight.

Hancox was standing in the drive-thru with a 3-year-old child as vehicles drove around them, the report says. She was arrested and found to be in possession of methadone hydrochloride and alprazolam pills, according to the report.

Hancox is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of child neglect.
