A woman spotted driving the wrong way on U.S. 19 at Fox Hollow Drive in Pasco County early Sunday morning was charged with DUI, officials said.
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper traveling southbound on U.S. 19 shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday spotted a northbound vehicle in the southbound lanes headed in the direction of the trooper's marked patrol vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The vehicle headed the wrong-way was traveling a slow rate of speed in the inside lane.
The trooper activated emergency lights to make a traffic stop. The motorist made a U-turn and pulled over on the shoulder of U.S. 19. The driver was asked to perform a standard sobriety exercises before she was arrested.
Christina Marie Gasparini, 22, of New Port Richey, was charged with driving under the influence.
