Port Richey drive-by shooting injures 1-year-old girl

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that left a 1-year-old girl injured.

Deputies received a call at 11:26 p.m. that someone had fired multiple shots at a home in the 7300 block of Westcott Drive in Port Richey. One of the bullets entered the front bedroom where the girl was sleeping and hit her in the wrists.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injury is not believed to be life threatening.

The shooting does not appear to be random. Deputies say the mother of the infant is a documented gang member. 

Detectives have not released any description of a possible suspect or the vehicle they were riding in.
