New Port Richey Police say a 26-year-old man was found dead outside a room at a hotel on Saturday morning.
Around 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired at the Magnuson Hotel at 5015 U.S. Highway 19 in New Port Richey. When police arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds just outside of a room.
The victim, later identified as Jerrell Billy Tomlin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives originally named 23-year-old Jerrell Rayshawn Marcus as a person of interest.
Monday morning it was announced Marcus was located and volunteers to meet with detectives for an interview. Detectives have now been ruled out Marcus as a person of interest in the murder of Tomlin.
