A man has died after he was reportedly riding on the rear bumper of a minivan and fell off when the driver took a left turn.

John F. Belette, 22, of Hudson, was standing on the rear bumper and holding on to the back of the Kia Minivan as it was traveling northbound on Old Dixie Highway approaching the intersection of Mako Drive.

Robert H. Catterson, 22, was driving the minivan and proceeded to turn left/west onto Mako Drive when Belette fell from the back bumper of the vehicle onto Mako Drive. He was transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where he later died from his injuries.
