Lightning strike sparks fire and destroys several cars at a Dade City auto repair shop

A lightning strike is blamed for sparking a fire and destroying several cars at an auto repair shop early Monday morning. Just after 3:00 a.m., Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to at Reliance Auto, located on U.S. 98 bypass in Dade City. When firefighters arrived on scene they found several vehicles engulfed in flames. Surveillance video showed a lightning strike in the back of the business ignited the fire. Authorities say the flames destroyed four wrecked cars. The fire did not damage the auto shop building.
