Largo City Hall was evacuated Tuesday morning after its mailroom reported a suspicious package, police said.
The package was addressed to the mayor's office, and staffers thought it suspicious during routine screening. The mailroom called police and fire rescue around 8:45 a.m.
The Tampa Police bomb squad was called in to inspect the package and determined that there were no explosives.
The Hazardous Materials team is double-checking the package as a precaution, and City Hall is expected to be cleared soon.
