Clearwater Police are investigating two scenes within a half a mile from one another after a reported shooting took place early Monday morning.

Police responded to the Idle Spur Saloon on Cleveland Street around 2:45 a.m. Monday morning after a call reported an armed person. Clearwater Police along with Pinellas County Sheriff Crime Scene units responded to the scene.

About five minutes after responding to the first shooting, police received a call in reference to a person being found shot at a residence on Drew Street, within a half a mile of the shooting on Cleveland Street.

Clearwater Police and Pinellas Sheriff Crime Scene units also responded to the scene of the second shooting. Police say that a person, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was transported to the hospital. That person received non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Officers are investigating to see if the wounds might have been self-inflicted, according to Clearwater Police.

Police believe that the two scenes are likely because the shooting first took place near the saloon and potentially ended up near the residence on Drew Street.
