A three-alarm fire in Pinellas County has left a condo complex partly uninhabitable, causing around 70 residents to evacuate.
The fire started around 3 p.m. Christmas Eve on the first floor of the Top of the World condominiums at 2021 Australia Way, but then spread upward through the walls all the way to the third floor.
No residents reported injuries, but one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion on the scene.
The Red Cross and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority sent resources for those displaced, including help with any transportation needs.
A report said nine units were unlivable as a result of the fire. The Red Cross was working with management at Top of the World to provide temporary shelter to those in need. Eight people have been relocated as of Thursday night.
