Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who collided with an SUV early Thursday morning in Clearwater.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire Rescue responded to an accident with serious injuries just after midnight at Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Hercules Avenue.
According to police, the motorcyclist, 23-year-old Joshua Douglass, was traveling east at a high-speed rate when he collided with an SUV that was turning west on Gulf-to-Bay from Hercules.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where he passed away a short time later.
Motorcyclist who died was riding 2013 Suzuki. He was pronounced dead at Largo Medical. Driver of SUV went to Morton Plant w/ minor injuries.
