TAMPA, Fla. — Two deserving veterans each received the keys to newly refurbished vehicles in the Tampa Bay area as part of Progressive Insurance's Keys to Progress event.

The veterans selected are in need of reliable transportation in order to get to job interviews, to healthcare appointments or to run errands.

In total, more than 100 veterans across the country will receive keys as part of the company's sixth annual event.

In Tampa, the vehicles were refurbished by Car Guys Collision Repair and Stingray Chevrolet Collision Center.

Maureen Wilson tells ABC Action News she rides a scooter to a current job, but a new vehicle will give her reliable transportation to now safely get to her destination.

The military veteran served in the Army and the Army Reserves for more than a decade.

She was so grateful, as this was the nicest thank you for her service she's ever received.
