A Tampa man was arrested on Thursday for killing a 19-year-old man whose body was discovered in a vacant lot on Tuesday.
Hillsborough County deputies arrested 20-year-old Angel Edwin Romero-Rivera at his home on Thursday without incident for the murder of Geovany Edwin Milla-Murillo.
Detectives began conducting an investigation into what they referred to as a "suspicious death" on Tuesday. Around 1:30 p.m., HCSO detectives found Milla-Murillo's body in a vacant lot on the corner of 131st Avenue and N. Taliaferro Avenue in Tampa.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner ruled the official cause of the death a homicide. Milla-Murillo had at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.
Deputies say that the motive was domestic related, but have not provided more details at this time. Romero-Rivera was arrested on Thursday and charged with First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery intended harm, two counts of False Imprisonment, Possession of Heroin and two counts of Petit Theft. He is being booked into the Hillsborough County Jail where he will be held with no bond.
