Surveillance video on a model home helped detectives with Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrest a 42-year-old Wimauma man for stealing patio furniture.
Arrest documents state Samuel Solis was arrested on several felony counts of burglary of unoccupied structures that date back to December.
The surveillance video captured from the model home show two men picking up patio furniture on a Saturday, before loading it into a truck and taking off.
Jail records show Solis is a construction worker.
He was arrested March 24 for similar thefts from other model homes.
One report from April of 2016 states Solis forced open a door of a finished construction residence, got inside but did not steal the refrigerator.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says there are 35 new construction developments in the south eastern part of the county.
The construction boom off the 301 corridor in Riverview is putting new communities at risk because of the number of contractors, builders and construction crews going in and out of the area.
The county recognizes the growing thefts in construction areas so they have assigned a detective to investigate just those cases.
The sheriff's office says homeowners living in new developments should report construction crews in the communities after dark, as contractors should be gone by then.
