TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a shooting from early Sunday morning that took the life of an 18-year-old woman.
Police say it happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of North 15th Street.
They say it happened at a party and during a confrontation or fight someone pulled out a gun. The woman was hit and rushed to the hospital, but died of her injuries.
Detectives say their investigation is on-going. They believe there was a large crowd there during the shooting and are asking any witnesses to come forward with information.

Police identified the victim as 18-year-old Takiyah Fullwood. Fullwood was an East Bay High School graduate, attending Florida Atlantic University, majoring in Biology. She was in town visiting her family when she attended a party where the shooting occurred, according to Tampa Police.
