TAMPA, Fla. — Police are investigating a homicide and searching for a suspect after two men were killed and another two seriously injured in Ybor early Saturday morning.

The Tampa Police Department said shortly before 2 a.m. the suspect approached four "unsuspecting" men on 7th Avenue near 20th Street and shot towards them multiple times.

After shooting, the suspect left the area.

Upon arrival, officers tried locating the suspect but could not find him.

Tampa Fire Rescue transported the four men to nearby hospitals.

Two of the men, a 43-year-old and 29-year-old, died from their injuries, according to TPD.

The other two victims, a 33-year-old and 32-year-old, remain hospitalized in serious, but stable, condition.

The suspect, according to TPD, is a 25 to 35-year-old man who is thinly built and weighs approximately 135 to 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark-colored face mask, black shirt and white sneakers.

TPD said, at this time, the shooting does not appear to be random. Detectives are currently gathering evidence and working with local business owners to determine if any valuable surveillance video may be available.
